Job Summary: We are seeking a full-time research assistant position with the Cognitive Affective NeuroDevelopment in Youth (CANDY) Laboratory in the Institute for Human Neuroscience at Boys Town National Research Hospital. The position includes ample opportunities for career growth and development, including enrollment in local neuroscience or psychology PhD programs. This position is ideal for post-baccalaureate or comparable career stage applicants seeking to gain research experience to prepare for graduate school and/or a career in neuroscience or child development research. Applicants with interest and/or previous experience in child adversity, autism spectrum disorders, puberty, child/adolescent brain development, and mental health will be given preference. Successful applicants will have extensive opportunities to learn the latest neuroscience methods, conduct hands-on research with human participants, and author and co-author manuscripts. Schedule: Full-time, in person. Start dates are negotiable.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:

  • Assists in data collection and managing databases. Enters data from testing, managing subject files and keeping track of participant compensation.
  • Assists in the recruitment, scheduling, and testing in research studies. Assists in advertising for new studies, phone screens of potential participants, scheduling testing and administering behavioral testing.
  • Analyzes results of experiments. Assists in processing imaging data and collecting behavioral data for different research projects.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Requires a bachelor's degree in psychology, child development, neuroscience, biology, computer science, or a related area.
  • Job requires strong interpersonal skills, close attention to details, STEM aptitude, and flexibility in duties performed.
