Lab Name: Motor Adaptations in Psychotic Disorders lab and interACT lab
Supervisor Name: Alexandra Moussa-Tooks and Natasha Chaku
Position Title: Postdoctoral Fellow

Description:

The Motor Adaptations in Psychotic Disorders lab (MAPD; PI: Dr. Alexandra Moussa-Tooks) and interACT Lab (PI: Dr. Natasha Chaku) at Indiana University-Bloomington invite applications for a joint postdoctoral fellowship. This position is funded by a National Institute of Child Health and Human Development T32 grant, “Training Program in Integrative Developmental Science” (PI: Smith). The goal of the training program is to build scientists who can go beyond current boundaries and integrate multiple levels of analysis to understand complex causal pathways in development. The goal of this specific postdoctoral position will be to bridge developmental and clinical science, focusing on the etiological and mechanistic processes underlying the onset and progression of psychosis from adolescence through adulthood. The postdoctoral fellow will work collaboratively across both labs using large secondary datasets, neuroendocrine measures (e.g., hormonal and stress-related biomarkers), and neuroimaging data to identify biological and developmental mechanisms that contribute to risk and resilience for psychosis.

Competitive candidates will have demonstrated knowledge of longitudinal data analysis or neuroimaging (structural and/or functional processing and analysis) and an interest in integrating neuroendocrine, neuroimaging, and behavioral approaches to understand psychopathology. In addition, the fellow will receive advanced training in developmental methods and computational modeling, as well as professional development in grant writing, mentorship, and team science.

As per NIH requirements, all applicants must be US citizens or have permanent residency status. The position is one year long with renewal for a second year, contingent on funding availability and performance. Stipend levels are set by NIH and based on years post PhD.

Applications will be accepted on an ongoing basis until the position is filled. The start date will be between January 1, 2026 and July 15, 2026. Earlier start dates are preferred. Applicants for this position must have defended their PhD no later than July 1, 2026.

How to apply: Please send a CV, a cover letter describing your interests and prior experiences, a representative publication, and the names of three potential references to Charlotte Wozniak (chwoznia@iu.edu), Alexandra Moussa-Tooks (amoussat@iu.edu), and Natasha Chaku (nchaku@iu.edu).
