Job Title: Researcher 2

Department: Medicine | Health and Rehabilitation Sciences

RA to assist and support scientific investigation to study atypical and typical development in children as directed in the School of Health and Rehabilitation Science and Physical Therapy Division; independently recruits and enrolls research participants; assists with assigned experiments; performs a variety of research techniques and procedures including developmental assessments with children and families; managing databases; records, consolidates and assists with analysis of research results; assists in evaluating validity of data obtained from experimental procedures; summarizes and collects data for inclusion in grant proposals and manuscripts; prepares research progress reports; assists principal investigator with the preparation of  publications, manuscripts, articles, posters, and abstracts; conducts library research on requested topics through researching current literature; oversees and maintains accurate records of laboratory activities including travel; assists with training of junior research staff, and undergraduate and graduate students in research methods and equipment operation; sets up and operates laboratory equipment; monitors research supply, and inventory and initiates procurement requests  as needed.

Minimum Education and Skills/Experience Required/Desired

A master’s in public health/health sciences is desired but not required. Bachelor’s degree in a psychological/biological/health science or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Ability to translate, adapt and apply academic or practical knowledge in the conduct of developmental/health science rehabilitation research is required. Requires successful completion of a background check. Qualified candidates may be requested to complete a pre-employment physical including a drug screen.
