The Culture, Brain, and Development Lab at Northwestern University, Evanston, directed by Dr. Yang Qu, is seeking applications for a post-doctoral scholar position. The postdoc will get involved in several studies on culture, parenting, and adolescent development. Some assistance with grant writing and helping to oversee lab personnel (staff, graduate students, undergraduate RAs) will also be expected. Opportunities for participation in and authorship on publications will be supported.

The candidate is expected to have expertise in one of the two following areas: (1) adolescent brain development, fMRI task design (e.g., E-Prime, PsychoPy, or PsychToolBox), and fMRI data collection and analyses (e.g., FSL, AFNI, or SPM); or (2) parenting and adolescent development from a cultural lens, longitudinal data analyses, multilevel modeling, and structural equation modeling. A background in developmental or neurocognitive psychology is preferred (received Ph.D. when the position starts), but any social science background with appropriate expertise will be considered. The position is initially for 1 year with the possibility of additional years of funding. Application will be reviewed on a rolling basis.
