The Faculty of Social Science and Humanities at Ontario Tech University invites applications for a tenure-track position in Psychology at the rank of Assistant Professor.

The starting date for the position is July 1, 2023.

The new psychology program at Ontario Tech University includes specializations in Developmental Psychological Science and Affective Science and Mental Health. Applicants with research expertise that connects with these broad areas of specialization may be prioritized. Of particular interest are applicants with research programs that focus on topics within Cognitive Development (broadly construed across the lifespan), including but not limited to: attention, memory, language, or executive functions, in typical or atypical populations.

Candidates are expected to have a Ph.D. in Psychology, or a closely related field, and to show a record of excellence, or the potential for excellence, in both research (e.g. contributions in highly-ranked journals, conference presentations) and teaching (e.g. previous teaching reviews, a strong teaching philosophy, experience or plans for teaching to a diverse student body).

The successful candidate will be expected to conduct outstanding, innovative, and independent research, to establish a competitive and externally funded research program, and to undertake high-quality supervision and teaching of students and trainees. As a burgeoning program, Psychology at Ontario Tech is experiencing rapid development; the successful applicant will also be expected to contribute actively to that growth.

The position will entail a 40% research, 40% teaching, and 20% service workload. The position remains pending budgetary approval.

Review of applications will begin on April 7, 2023 and will continue until the position is filled.

Only those who have, or will have, completed a Ph.D. by July 1, 2023 are eligible to apply. Interested applicants should send a formal letter of application, a curriculum vitae, a statement of teaching interests/experience, an outline of present and future research agendas, and provide the names and contact information for three referees through the Ontario Tech website: WEBSITE.
